I've been striking out and seeing a lot of not very good Horror films this month...so I decided to end around and watch a documentary about people who decorate their houses as haunted houses for Halloween. The American Scream looks at three families in CT that all set up elaborate amateur haunts for their neighbors to experience. The film chronicles the 30 days before Halloween as they set up and prepare for the big night.
The three families are all very different, and we get a little glimpse into the inner workings of each of them. I'd have liked a little more backstory on each, but there just wasn't time to devote to delving much deeper into their day to day lives.
Definitely worth checking out.
